Sought out for decades for his expert witness testimony, he’s also been the Director of The Joshua Center on Child Sexual Abuse Prevention, and is a Professor Emeritus of Social Work at the University of Washington. Together he and Laura go deep into all things trauma and abuse. They discuss how we can maintain our sense of hope in humankind when we are exposed to trauma and overwhelm, and how doing very small things can yield very big results in our efforts to sustain ourselves. Sought out for decades for his expert witness testimony, he maintains a private practice specializing in forensic mental health issues surrounding child abuse and the effect of trauma work on professionals. He has also been the Director of The Joshua Center on Child Sexual Abuse Prevention, and is a Professor Emeritus of Social Work at the University of Washington. Jon is a founding president of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and serves on their board and as a senior advisor. He is the author of many articles, and the editor of several journals and books, including Journal of Interpersonal Violence and Trauma, Violence and Abuse: A Review Journal and Child Abuse and Neglect Worldwide.
