AV Requirements

Here is a list of AV needs for Laura’s presentation:

  • Space for Laura’s laptop next to her
  • Remote clicker if her laptop can’t be nearby
  • Very strong LCD projector
  • Large projection screen
  • Wireless lavalier microphone
  • Speaker system that can be connected to laptop

*We strongly prefer to have the laptop next to Laura. If that’s not possible please let us know?

Laura has a Macbook Pro and will bring an adapter so the projector can be hooked up directly to her laptop.

Books for Sale

Many of our hosts request copies of Laura’s books, Trauma Stewardship: An Everyday Guide to Caring for Self While Caring for Others and The Age of Overwhelm: Strategies for the Long Haul, be made available for sale at their events. If you would like to have books available for sale, we will be happy to ship books to you in advance. However, given Laura’s focus on your attendees, we ask that our hosts coordinate any book sales.

Additionally, if your organization is interested in providing books to your guests in advance of or at the event, we do offer discounts for bulk orders.

Guest Policy

We often receive general inquiries from folks interested in attending one of Laura’s presentations. If your event is available to the public, or part of a conference with open registration, please let your event coordinator know. We would be happy to add a link to your registration information on our list of upcoming gatherings.

Additionally, if you anticipate having extra space and can accommodate guests, we would be happy to put folks in your area in touch with you to inquire about attending.

I have been in the criminal justice system for 36 years – as a District Attorney for 17 and a judge for 19. I have regularly witnessed others relate the trauma they have experienced first hand.

Laura van Dernoot Lipsky presents compelling evidence of the impact witnessing trauma has on the observer. I recommend her work to anyone engaged in criminal justice work as well as any other profession that brings that person into close encounter with the trauma suffered by others.
